Design, Manufacturing & Engineering ManagementPierre Toccanier: my introduction

Hello future Strathclyde students!

My name is Pierre Toccanier, I am a French MSc student in the Department of Design, Manufacture and Engineering Management at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. During this last year I have studied Mechatronics and Automation as a postgraduate student.

This experience was my first student year outside of France and I enjoyed it very much.

Discovering a new and very welcoming culture, meeting people coming from all parts of the globe and experiencing new ways of teaching and learning really made this period wonderful.

Support

Of course going to another country was at first stressful. The support from the University and from former students helped me a lot when preparing for my arrival in Glasgow and that is why I now want to help you!

'Astonishing scenery'

The University of Strathclyde was for me a really good place to learn. It offers students great facilities and equipment that I did not have in my previous years of studies. Moreover, it is in Glasgow which is an amazing city with a great atmosphere, very welcoming people, many events to go to and many other things. I really enjoyed living here!

I also visited quite a big part of Scotland and was astonished by the amazing sceneries that can be found not so far from the cities.

I will share more about my student experience, my life in Glasgow and my favourite places in Scotland in the weeks to come.

I look forward to discussing with you!

Pierre
