Engineering AcademyStudent Benefits

As a student in the Engineering Academy you will be a registered student of the University of Strathclyde while you're studying in one of the partner colleges during the first year.

Access to millions of books

You’ll have electronic access to Strathclyde students’ learning and teaching facilities and the Virtual Learning Environment called MyPlace.

You’ll also have student membership of the University library, allowing you to access over a million electronic books, make use of the large collection of computers, and study in the dedicated student areas located throughout the five floors.

Your own Academic Counsellor

They'll be your specific contact if you have any questions or problems

Each student will have an Academic ‘Counsellor’ from within the University’s Faculty of Engineering.

This person will become your specific contact within the Faculty and will facilitate on-going communication with the University whilst you are attending college. They'll provide information and guidance relating to university life and study and will be your first point of contact if you have any questions or problems during your studies.

Get active in the Sports Centre

You’ll also have student membership of the University’s Students’ Association and Centre for Sport and Recreation, allowing you to fully embrace the University life, meeting new people and embarking on new activities at the University.

Engineering Academy specific events

A number of events and additional classes will be delivered at the University during your first year to assist with the transition from college to university. These classes and events mean that you'll become familiar with university life before progressing onto the university degree.
