What is the Engineering Academy?

The Engineering Academy is a unique access route into university and employment. It is a collaboration between the University of Strathclyde, partner colleges and industry which will deliver a pathway to a range of engineering degrees in the University's leading Faculty of Engineering.

Your first year is taken as an enhanced HNC programme at one of the partner colleges, together with practical skills units and departmental activities which take place at Strathclyde. You will still be a registered student of the University of Strathclyde with access to all of the facilities. Students who complete the enhanced HNC award, gain an A in the Graded Unit and engage with Strathclyde activities are guaranteed direct progression into one of our selected undergraduate degree programmes.

What is an MEng degree?

We offer four-year BEng and BSc Honours degrees and five-year MEng degrees.

Master of Engineering (MEng) degrees will equip you with the potential and skills to reach the highest levels within industry. MEng degrees require higher entry qualifications and an above average standard of performance throughout each year of study.

If you’re aiming to become a Chartered Engineer (CEng), you must study the MEng to meet the educational requirements. Students who perform well on a BEng programme can also transfer to MEng.
