MSc Digital Journalism

This course will equip you with the skills to produce multimedia news and features. Develop the sound analytical, ethical and entrepreneurial skills required to stand out in today's digital media environment.

MSc Media & Communication

Develop an informed and critical perspective on the future of our communication. Learn from internationally-renowned experts in strategic communication, media and communication theory, media ethics, gender and the media and mediated populism.
MSc Media Crime & Violence
Start date: January
Study mode & duration: 12 months full-time: 24 months part-time
This course aims to explore media representations of crime and violence, and to consider the media as a vehicle for crime, violence and/or justice.
MSc Political Communication & Media

This course is a multi-disciplinary programme that explores the intersection of politics, media, and public discourse and prepares students to understand, analyse, and effectively engage in the communication processes that shape political life.

Fees & funding
Applicants ordinarily resident in Scotland
SAAS offer postgraduate tuition fee loans of up to £7,000 per year. Full time students can also apply for a living cost loan of up to £6,900, making the total funding available £13,900.
EU residents
EU residents applying to full-time, face-to-face postgraduate taught programmes may be eligible for an EU Engagement Scholarship worth between £6000-£8000
Non-EU international residents
Non-EU international students beginning full-time, face-to-face postgraduate taught programmes in 2026/27 may be eligible for a scholarship worth between £6,000 and £8,000.
