Aurora Women’s Leadership Development Initiative 2026-2027
Applications are invited for Aurora, the women’s leadership development initiative from Advance HE.
The programme runs as a unique partnership bringing together leadership experts and higher education institutions to take positive action to address the under-representation of women in leadership positions in the sector.
Aurora seeks to support women and their institutions to fulfil their leadership potential through thought-provoking activities, collaborative problem-solving activities and motivating stories supported by inspirational women role models. Participation embeds strong networks of early career women across the sector to share best practice, insights and experiences.
The Scotland sessions of Aurora begin online in September 2026 and more information on the programme is available on the Advance HE website. A limited number of University-funded places are available for women in Grades 7-9, in an Academic, Admin and Professional Services, Knowledge Exchange, Research, Teaching or Technical role. Please note that colleagues who are Grade 6 may be considered in cases where their experience to date and career development goals meet the criteria.
To apply, download the Aurora Strathclyde Criteria 2026-2027 and complete the Aurora Strathclyde Application 2026-2027. Please submit your application by email to equality@strath.ac.uk by 5pm on Friday 12 June 2026.
Applicants who are unsuccessful in achieving a place through the central application process may still participate if their department would be willing to fund their participation, and it is agreed with Advance HE. Enquiries should be directed to the Equality & Diversity Office in the first instance equality@strath.ac.uk.
