The Parents’ and Family Staff Network
Who are we?
We are a support group for staff members who are expectant parents and parents with children - or grandchildren - of any age.
The network drives its own agenda and members have the opportunity to support the following aims:
- Provide a safe space for the discussion of issues.
- Provide a source of peer support for each other.
- Offer a collective voice for employees to help inform policy and practice.
- Develop a programme of activities that would be of interest and value to the network members, and wider employees.
- Help to raise awareness of issues and experiences within the wider University.
What do we do?
- Provide insight and feedback on how the University might better support the needs of employees with parental responsibilities in line with our socially progressive culture, people-oriented value, and commitment to family-friendly policy and practice.
- Raise awareness of relevant policies, resources, and information available to support families and parents working at Strathclyde.
Meetings and events
Meetings can take the form of a formal network meeting, informal social gathering or subgroup of a specified interest.
Network meetings are currently being held every month, over Zoom, and last up to 60 minutes.
