Head of Careers and Employability Service

Katrina Forbes

As Head of Careers and Employability, it is my role to ensure the University is able to provide the best quality Careers Service and Employability Support that it can. I lead the various teams below to ensure our service is able to provide students and graduates with opportunities to explore post-study options by providing high-quality professional information, advice, guidance and education to all, allowing them to be able to achieve the best possible outcome from education.

We work with employers to provide and promote a range of opportunities for Strathclyde students to experience work and develop skills related to their learning in a workplace setting as well as access to high-quality graduate jobs. I am responsible for ensuring all that we do is fair, impartial and confidential and is meeting the needs of all students and graduates.

We work in partnership with academic colleagues to support the development of careers and employability content in the curriculum. I work with colleagues across the university on projects which support employability development.

I have been a Careers Adviser across many settings since qualifying in 1995, spending the last 20-plus years working in HE. I am a great believer in the transformative impact our service can have on people and am glad you have found your way to our amazing service.
