The Library is in the Curran Building. There are five floors for you to explore.

Staff at the Enquiry Desks on Levels 3, 4 and 5 will be happy to help with any queries.

Every floor has toilets and a free water dispenser.

Level 1

A silent study floor, Level 1 is great for those who want to work in a peaceful environment. Most desks are equipped with a power socket for charging your laptop or mobile device. Computers are available for use. Moving shelves contain our reference collection, print copies of journals, government publications and some Special Collections.

Level 2

Level 2 is the main hub for group study and lively discussion. There are nine bookable discussion rooms and 12 first-come-first-served group study pods, each equipped with a widescreen monitor for your laptop. There is a printer/scanner/copier on this level, along with computers which you can sign into with your DS username and password.

You will find the Assistive Technologies Room and Reprographic & Binding Services here, as well as vending machines.

Level 3

Level 3 is the main entrance floor. Once you pass through the entry gates you’ll see the IS enquiries desk for Library and IT support, the Short Loan Collection, and self-service kiosks for items. There are computers and printers/scanners/copiers near the enquiry desk.

Level 3 - annexe

Turn right after the entry gates to the Level 3 annexe and find more group study booths, open study space, vending machines and three large computer suites.

You’ll also find the Library Lecture Theatre, Family Study Room, group discussion rooms and the on this level.

Level 4

This is a silent study floor with five small bookable discussion rooms. Level 4 contains Business, Education, Engineering, Languages, Science and Social Sciences resources. There is a printer/scanner/copier on this level, along with computers and desks equipped with power sockets for charging your laptop or mobile device. All books are borrowed and returned on Level 3.

Level 5

This is a silent study floor with five small bookable discussion rooms. Level 5 contains resources to support Architecture, Arts, Humanities and Law, the Children’s & Media Collections and Archives & Special Collections. There is a printer/scanner/copier on this level, computers and desks equipped with power sockets for charging your laptop or mobile device. All books are borrowed and returned on Level 3.
