LCMS in the analysis of pharmaceuticals and biological samples

The Strathclyde Institute for Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences is delivering a Continuous Professional Development course for laboratory staff (analysts, QC staff and QA staff) focussed on Liquid Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) in the analysis of pharmaceuticals and biological samples.

The course is run over two weeks and will involve laboratory activities, workshops and lectures. The number of delegates on this course is limited to maximise the instrument time available to delegates.

The course tutors are Dr Nicholas Rattray, Dr Ibrahim Khadra, Dr Lina Akil and Dr Steven Ford. All the tutors have extensive experience in teaching chemical analysis and/or working in testing facilities.


Course content:

Key physico-chemical principles of LCMS
Separation techniques.
Calibrations and validation
Ionisation and fragmentation analysis
Analysis of biological samples
Impurity analysis
LCMS troubleshooting
