We are delighted to be delivering a small selection of adult learning classes outwith the university campus.

Our first satellite location, established in 2023/24, was a partnership with the Thomas Graham Community Library in Strathblane. 

For 2024/25 we bring a selection of our popular classes to the new locations of Carnegie Library in Ayr and New Lanark Heritage Site.

In 2026 we are delighted to add Springfield Cambridge Community Church to our satellite portfolio.

Thomas Graham Community Library

This striking modern building with advanced net zero carbon energy system is the product of a partnership between Strathblane Community Development Trust (SCDT) and Stirling Council and provides a fantastic space for learning.

Carnegie Library, Ayr

Located in Newton on Ayr, the Carnegie Library was built in 1893 by the architects Campbell, Douglas and Morrison. Funded and named after the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, the two-storey red sandstone building houses the town's main library as well as a section specialising in genealogical research.

Springfield Cambridge Community Church

We are delighted to announce that we are now offering a range of classes from Springfield Cambridge Church, Bishopbriggs. 

 

Springfield Cambridge Church of Scotland brings together two rich traditions. Springfield traces its roots to the Disruption of 1843 and the growth of a Free Church congregation in Bishopbriggs, while Cambridge reflects the heritage of Cambridge Street Church in Glasgow, founded in 1833. The two congregations united in 1968, combining their histories, people and resources. Today’s church complex, opened in the early 1970s, links the original Springfield church with a modern sanctuary and halls, continuing a long legacy of worship, community and service.

 

New Lanark World Heritage Site

New Lanark was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001 and is an exceptional example of a purpose-built 18th century mill village.
Thanks to an ongoing process of conservation and rehabilitation spanning almost half a century, the appearance of the village today is close to that of the early nineteenth century, when the mill buildings formed one of the largest industrial groups in the world.
