A perfect introduction to meditation and mindfulness with one of our Honorary Chaplains, Tony Young. This short meditation practice is an audio recording and can be used morning/evening or middle of the day for a chance to catch up with yourself and take some time to reflect and be. Find a place where you won’t be disturbed for 20 minutes, and relax.
The Loving Kindness meditation is led by our University Chaplain, Meg Masson. This beautiful meditation allows you to focus loving kindness on those you love, on yourself, on those whom you don't hold so dearly, on those who are suffering and on the planet and all living things upon it. It is a 24-minute audio recording that has been adapted from Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Guided Mindfulness Meditation Series 3, found on Mindful.org.
The Sea Sunrise meditation is presented by Kim Atherton-Dow, our Earth-Based Faiths Chaplain. This is a short 13-minute video which is ideal as a morning meditation to gently start your day with the peace and beauty of nature.

This gentle guided meditation aims to bring your attention to your breath as a focus for meditation and a way of calming and centring yourself. It is a 12-minute audio recording. The script was written by Shilagh Mirgain, PhD, for UW Cultivating Well-Being.
This longer Mindful Breathing meditation is led by our University Chaplain, Meg Masson. This guided meditation brings a gentle focus of attention on the breath, the inhale and exhale, without trying to change your breathing in any way and with no expectations. There is simply an awareness of the breath, moment to moment. It is a 20-minute audio recording that was scripted by Marion Werner and adapted from Thich Nhat Hanh, “A Short Teaching on Mindfulness Breathing”.
