Project Details

S-acylation, often referred to as palmitoylation, is a reversible post-translational modification involving the attachment of fatty acids to proteins. This process influences protein membrane binding, localization, and function. This project will study the interactions between S-acylation enzymes and their substrates, and develop novel enzyme inhibitors to uncover the role of this important post-translational modification in cell physiology.
