What is Sustainability Week?
Sustainability Week is the University of Strathclyde’s annual celebration focused on advancing sustainable development across teaching, research, operations and student life.

Whether you want to deepen your knowledge on sustainability, connect with others, or find simple ways to make a difference, there is something for you.
Purpose
Held each March since 2021, it is delivered through a programme of events, workshops and talks that bring together students, staff, researchers and external partners to:
- showcase sustainability research & innovation
- build knowledge & skills linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
- connect disciplines & professional services
- support delivery of the University’s Social & Environmental Sustainability Strategy (SESS)
Sustainability Week 2026
This year’s theme was ‘Citizens of Change’, focusing on making students active global ambassadors who seek to address the world’s complex challenges.
The festival included a symposium with a welcome address from the Principal and a keynote presentation by Laura Anderson (Award-Winning Climate Campaigner), alongside sustainability updates and the Vertically Integrated Projects for Sustainable Development pitch presentation.
