New ACG laboratory nears completion

Consolidation of composites research facilities into larger space

Throughout summer 2017 work is underway to create a brand new composites research laboratory. Adjacent to the AMRL this space will allow us to bring together all of our analytical equipment; thus creating a cutting edge facility for the study of composite micro-mechanics, morphology, thermal and chemical properties. The new space is significantly larger than our previous laboratory, allowing us to consolidate equipment previously housed elsewhere in the department. The timing of this expansion also coincides with the arrival of a number of new postgraduate students who will begin their studies within the ACG later this year.

Upon completion of some remaining building work we hope to begin the migration process in September 2017, before the start of the forthcoming academic year.
