Strathcloud (Shared resources If you have access to a service, this does not necessarily mean you have access to every resource within that service. For example, I: drive, Strathcloud, SharePoint, MyPlace, and Pegasus all contain shared resources which are shared with specific users. Strathcloud has two types of account : "employee" (full access) and "client" (partial access). As of Jan 2021, all new users are created as client accounts, and no new employee accounts are being issued : this is because the University recommends that Strathcloud users should transition to Office 365 (including OneDrive, Sharepoint and Teams).) |

Accounts for external users
Notes:
- If you are collaborating with an external partner, and you just need to share files with them through OneDrive, Sharepoint and Teams, then you don't need to get a user account created for them. Instead, simply ask them for their external email address, and share the files with that address, using the Microsoft 365 tools.
- If the external user needs access to more services than OneDrive, Sharepoint and Teams, then they may need a limited access or temp IT account. Limited access accounts should be used where possible, temp IT accounts only where strictly necessary. See table below for details.
