Welcome to Glasgow

Glasgow city centre is compact and walkable, and the University's campus is around 15-minute walk from George Square and Glasgow's two main train stations, Glasgow Central and Queen Street.

If you are staying further out, Glasgow also has a good network of buses, the Subway, and regional trains, so getting around and within the city centre is straightforward.

Google Maps and the StrathApp campus map are both handy for getting your bearings in the city centre, download them before you head out so you are not relying on guesswork.

Arriving in the UK

When you first arrive at the UK border, it is important that you enter the UK in the correct way.

Before starting your course, you’ll receive an email letting you know when online registration is available on PEGASUS (your student record).

Campus Welcome tours

Join for us a fun-filled campus tour and discover all the essential spots you need to know as a new international student.

You will need your University of Strathclyde student registration number to sign-up for the tour. You can find your registration number on your PEGASUS account, CAS, or offer letter.

Culture shock

It is common for international students to experience some culture shock after arriving in a new country, homesickness, adjusting to different social norms, or just feeling overwhelmed by a new environment. This is part of settling in and it usually eases with time.
