Safe360°Gender-based Violence

At Strathclyde, your safety, health, and well-being are always our top priority.

We want you to have a wonderful experience in every way while you're here with us at Strathclyde. We promote gender equality and do not tolerate any form of Gender-based Violence (GBV) or abusive behaviour. We do not stand for rape culture, and there is no place here for a culture that reinforces misogynistic attitudes.

We're committed to delivering the vision of Equally Safe: Scotland's strategy for preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls for a strong and flourishing Scotland where all individuals are equally safe and respected, and where women and girls live free from all forms of violence and abuse.

Harmful actions which constitute GBV go against our Gender-Based Violence Policy and Student and Staff Discipline Policies. We work with the Police to address illegal behaviour.

Our Strathclyde Community Commitment sets out the standards of behaviour we expect for a safe and respectful University community and culture, together on campus, off-campus and online. We all play our part in driving the change that is needed in society more generally.

"There is one universal truth, applicable to all countries, cultures and communities: violence against women is never acceptable, never excusable, never tolerable." -Ban Ki-Moon, United Nations Secretary-General
