The university offers Modern Apprentices roles across all faculties and departments.

A Modern Apprentice gives anyone over the age of 16 the opportunity to work in a paid job while undertaking workplace training in order to gain new and enhanced skills and recognised qualifications.

The Modern Apprentice programme at Strathclyde works in partnership with Skills Development Scotland and aims to encourage departments to give young people an opportunity to begin their career development, whilst in paid employment.

Modern Apprentice positions are mainly based on campus and location is dependent on what department you work for.

Learning & development opportunities  

Learning and development opportunities are offered for all Modern Apprentices allowing access to some great training.

As part of the apprenticeship this will include SVQ Qualifications, core skill development and additional components which are relevant to the job being carried out, such as units from other SVQs, industry-specific qualifications or academic qualifications.
