Heating & lighting

The cost of heating and lighting is included in the rent.

The residences are generally heated on the following basis:

• Monday - Friday, heating is provided in the morning and the evening
• Saturday - Sunday, heating is provided all-day
• Hot water is available 24/7

Strathclyde Sport

Students living in University accommodation is free access to Strathclyde Sport — giving you plenty of ways to stay active, unwind, and look after your wellbeing.

Members can enjoy:

• State‑of‑the‑art gym facilities
• Six‑lane, 25m swimming pool with sauna and steam rooms
• Two sports halls, two squash courts, and a dance studio

It’s the perfect place to train, relax, and be part of an active community.

Safety & security

Your wellbeing is a priority. With 24/7 support on campus, you can feel confident that help is always close by. The University’s Security Services work around the clock to keep students, staff, and visitors safe.

Cleaning

We want your living space to feel welcoming, so our team provides a supportive cleaning service to help maintain a good standard of cleanliness across all flats.

Laundry facilities are available in three convenient locations on campus, operated by Circuit Laundry, making it easy to keep on top of washing whenever it suits you.

*In exceptional circumstances, cleaning services may be reduced or temporarily suspended to protect the health and safety of everyone.

Car parking & bicycle storage

Car parking and a bicycle store is available at Andrew Ure Hall only.

Parking costs £12 per week (subject to change for 2025-26).  Students with a contract for any Strathclyde residence can apply for parking via our application form. Completing an application does not guarantee a space, those who apply will be notified of the outcome of the application before arrival.
