Gender-Based Violence IT helpUse a device you trust

If your abuser has access to your personal laptop or PC, it may be safer for you to use a University PC or laptop:

  • find a computer on campus
  • get a University laptop:
    • if you're a postgraduate student or staff, you could ask your Department to provide you with a laptop
    • if you're a UK resident full-time student, you may be eligible to apply for a laptop from our Digital Inclusion Programme

If you think it's safe for you to do so, you could get a device your abuser does not have access to.
