Car parking at Strathclyde

Due to our city centre location, parking is very limited. We encourage staff, students and visitors to choose sustainable transport options where possible. The Car Parking team at Estates Services are responsible for the management of car parking at Strathclyde

How to stay informed

Please note that we don't have a dedicated mailing list or newsletter for registered car park users. We share all essential car parking updates via Inside Strathclyde staff newsletter.

Staff annual parking permits 2023/24

Applications open on Tuesday 2 May and close on Friday 2 June. Permits are limited, and allocated via priority and a ballot after the closing date. Apply via the car parking portal. View our car parking FAQs and application instructions to find out more.

Latest updates

Glasgow's Low Emission Zone (LEZ)

From 1 June 2023, Glasgow’s Low Emission Zone (LEZ) will come into force. All vehicles entering the city centre zone area will need to meet the less-polluting emission standards or face a penalty charge. Staff who drive to work should note that all John Anderson Campus car parks are located within the LEZ (excluding the spaces the University has in the Duke Street car park). Full details can be found on Glasgow City Council’s LEZ Key Information page.

Book your day permit online

A booking system is available for staff to book parking for single days in the Graham Hills External car park. Simply log in using your Strathclyde email address and DS password. Following staff feedback, we will be increasing the number of day permits available on campus from August.

Car parking enforcement

Access to car parks on campus is restricted to permit holders only. Car parks are patrolled by Security Services. Any vehicle found without a permit may receive a Parking Warning Notice. Car park users who are found to be persistently not adhering to the rules will be prevented from accessing the car parks.

If you believe that you have parked within a designated parking space but have been stickered, please contact the Car Parking Team. Please provide photographs where possible.
