Security Services

Security Services staff provide a 24-hour security presence across the campus to keep Strathclyde students, staff and visitors safe. The security office can be found in the Livingstone Tower on Richmond Street.

Security Services are responsible for provision of:

  • security of students, staff and buildings
  • trained first aid personnel
  • internal mail services, collection and dispatch
  • operation of John Anderson Campus CCTV system
  • opening and closing of buildings, control of keys
  • liaison with police, fire and ambulance services
  • patrolling of campus, including car parks
  • emergency procedures
  • reporting of safety hazards
  • dealing with visitors to the University
  • stewarding at congregations, examinations and special occasions


Lost and found items

Lost property will be kept for seven days before being taken to the nearest police station. Please contact us if you've lost an item, including as much detail as possible. 

If you find an item please bring it to the Security Control Room, situated on the ground floor of the Livingstone Tower. If an item is found that may be suspicious, such as an unattended bag, contact Security on the emergency number 0141 548 2222.

Report & Support

You may use the University's Report & Support resource to report online any inappropriate behaviour that has made you feel unsafe, so the University can provide you with appropriate support.
