Strathclyde Business SchoolMBA
Dr Phil Considine
Phil Considine is Director of Executive Development in the Business School with over two decades of experience in executive education, he has designed and delivered leadership development programmes across Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East for senior executives, board members, and founders navigating complex commercial challenges.
His work sits at the intersection of governance, growth, and capital. He advises leadership teams on building the board-level capability and governance structures that institutional investors expect and has worked extensively with companies preparing for private equity and venture capital investment — helping them close the gap between commercial ambition and investor-readiness. His is module lead for Digital Transformation and Technological Innovation and his teaching on the MBA also covers corporate governance. He brings a practitioner's perspective shaped by his own experience as both an executive and non-executive director.
He works with businesses at pivotal moments — when they are scaling into new markets, restructuring their leadership and governance for institutional scrutiny, or preparing for a significant capital event. He brings a combination of academic rigour, boardroom experience, and deep commercial understanding of what investors actually require, and he partners with organisations to build the strategic and governance foundations that make growth sustainable and capital accessible.
Prof Alex Dickson
Professor Alex Dickson is an expert in applied microeconomic theory, with research spanning firm and consumer behaviour, and the interplay between business strategy and policy. Alongside his academic work, he has partnered with numerous organisations in knowledge exchange projects to translate economic insight into real-world impact. This blend of rigorous research and practical engagement makes him the ideal leader for Economic Analysis for Strategists. This module explores how strategic choices, market structures, and external forces shape a firm's ability to be successful, equipping you with the analytical edge to make smarter, more confident business decisions.
Dominic Finn
Dominic Finn brings together experience from finance, technology and higher education to help students tackle complex organisational challenges. Following a career in banking, investment and small and digital business, he studies in the Management Science department at Strathclyde before joining the faculty.
As co-developer of the Consulting Impact Challenge, Dominic specialises in client-engaged learning that bridges academic insight and practical action. He has extensive experience designing and facilitating projects in which students work directly with organisations to address strategic, operational and social challenges. His approach combines analytical rigour with a strong emphasis on collaboration, stakeholder relationships and professional communication.
The Consulting Impact Challenge provides a platform for students to apply their knowledge in a live consulting environment. Under Dominic's leadership, participants develop the skills required to navigate ambiguity, work effectively with clients, and translate analysis into recommendations that deliver lasting value and measurable impact.
Dr Aliakbar Jafari
Dr Aliakbar Jafari is an internationally recognised scholar in market studies – an interdisciplinary field that examines how markets emerge, evolve, or dissolve over time. His research has advanced contemporary thinking in Marketing and informed both public policy and business practice. His intellectually rigorous and highly engaging teaching combines research-led insights, real-world organisational challenges, case-based learning, and reflective practice to help executives strengthen their strategic thinking, critical decision-making, and leadership capabilities. Drawing on internationally recognised research, extensive industry experience, and a strong track record in executive education, Dr Jafari leads the Marketing Management module on the MBA programme. The module is designed to equip professionals with the strategic perspectives and analytical tools needed to create sustainable business value and navigate complexity, ambiguity, and transformation in today’s interconnected and geopolitically complex global economy.
Dr Jed Moore
Dr Jed Moore designs and delivers executive education that takes leadership beyond the heroic individual and into the harder, more interesting territory of how organisations actually function. He draws on critical leadership theory, strategy and change management, and on his own experience of continuous improvement in industry, where the gap between the org chart and the way work really gets done is impossible to ignore. His sessions are built on dialogue, live facilitation and real organisational complexity rather than tidy problems with tidy answers, and participants leave better equipped to share power, surface dissent productively, and build organisations people want to work in. He leads two modules on our MBA. The Boardroom Challenge calls for students to design and pitch initiatives into a boardroom environment in which fair and decent work, distributed leadership and employee voice are treated not as ethical add-ons but as economically practicable choices that strengthen performance and resilience. Strategic Leadership Development turns the attention inward, to the interpersonal and intrapersonal drivers of effective leadership, and gives participants the chance to test what they learn against demanding strategic cases, and to carry the habit of reflection well beyond their time with us.
Dr Paul Telemo
Dr Paul Telemo is the Module Leader for Macroeconomics & International Business Environment. As an expert in macroeconomics and labour economics, his research focuses on structural economic change, technological change, intergenerational mobility and labour-market outcomes. Paul holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania. In his MBA teaching, he draws on his research and expertise in macroeconomics to help students understand how developments such as inflation, economic growth, interest rates, exchange rates and economic policy shape the international business environment. The module provides students with frameworks for interpreting economic shocks and assessing their implications for businesses and strategic decision-making.
