Humanities & Social SciencesUndergraduate

We produce graduates who make a real impact on the world

Our dynamic, practice-led courses explore the systems, institutions, cultures and behaviours that shape lives throughout the world. Learning from academics working at the very cutting-edge of their specialisms, graduates leave our programmes feeling confident, intellectually-engaged and prepared to take on employment or further study.

The flexible BA programme

With our BA (Honours) degree you can choose from subjects in Humanities, Social Sciences and Business, with two of your three subject choices taught by the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. This allows you to try new subjects, develop your own ideas, develop a broad range of knowledge and enhance your employability.

The BA degree is a three year course and the Honours degree is normally a four year course.

Sarah Fairley law student

Sarah Fairley

LLB Law (Graduate Entry)

I did a lot of research on all of the Universities who offered the LLB course and Strathclyde was always the one that stuck out for me from the outset. They have a fantastic reputation, the lecturers are all highly acclaimed within their specialist fields and they also provide an award winning legal clinic of which I am a member.
Hannah Simpson Speech and Language Pathology

Hannah Simpson

BSc Speech & Language Therapy

I am lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work in outpatient clinics with both adults and children on placement. Clinical placements are one of my favourite parts of the course because you get hands-on experience of what it is like to be a Speech and Language Therapist.
Education and TESOL student Gihad Al-Jabri

Gihad al-Jabri

BA Education & TESOL

The placement is one of the experiences that I will never forget. It provided me with the opportunity to put theories into practice, and to become more involved with all aspects of teaching including planning, preparing materials, teaching, and evaluating learning experiences
